HCMG06 – Mekong 3 Days 2 Nights

Depart from Ho Chi Minh city for Mekong Delta in a 70km trip in air-con car/van and enjoy the beautiful scenery along the road. The first stop will be Vinh Trang Pagoda – the biggest Pagoda in Mekong Delta which was built during the first half of the 19th century to emerge yourself in the religious and cultural space. The second stop will be My Tho. From here, you will be taking a boat trip through the river, passing through floating fish rafts, houses along many other great views.

After arriving at Thai Son island, there will be upcoming activities waiting for you:

Visiting a honey farm, you will get to learn about the process of producing honey and how to collect royal jelly, you will also get to have a taste of wonderful honey tea on the spot.

Tourist trams will then transport you to an opera where you can enjoy fresh tropical fruits and Don Ca Tai Tu, a traditional form of western Vietnamese singing art perform by the villagers.

Walking deep into the village, passing through fruit gardens and, you will reach the rowing boats. After travelling on the rowing boats, big motorboats will be waiting for you, continuing your journey to the coconut candy factory, then restaurant for a local cuisine lunch, bikes will be available at the restaurants.

After lunch, if the is any spare time, you will have 15 minutes of spare time to walk or cycle around the village. Then you will continue your journey on a 4 – hour long car/van drive to Chau Doc and stay the night there.

In the second morning, after having breakfast visitors take the nice motorized boat trip through the floating village to visit the fish farm and to see how the people in Mekong Delta raise fish on their floating house. Next you will visit Tra Su Cajuput Forest, which is a beautiful forest with a peaceful feeling, a wild birds Sanctuary, then cruising deep inside using small boats and discover splendid canals within the forest filled with storks, cranes and other tropical birds. 

Lunch will be served at local restaurant

Once again, you head back to the car/van and proceed to Can Tho

Overnight in Can Tho

Waking up early in the morning, after traveling for 30 minutes by boat, you will get to Cai Rang floating market, the largest floating market on the Mekong River. You will have a chance to board a merchant’s boat, eating fresh fruit while looking at a great view. You will also feel the beauty, the rush and liveliness of the local people. 

After that, you will visit a factory which produces rice paper and noodle. Finishing all those activities will be around 8:30 then you will head back hotel to have breakfast (or you will have breakfast right on the car/van if we’re running behind schedule). Heading back to Ho Chi Minh city, stop at 10 Võ ancient house in Cai Be for lunch, you will experience making pancakes then enjoy your lunch. After lunch, you can take bicycle to bike around the village.

Finally, the tour ends once we take you back to your hotel in Ho Chi Minh city at around 16:00
